I did enjoy the "analyze my plate" activity. With my nontraditional community college students this would be a good activity, when they see (in black and white!) the nutritional and caloric evaluation of a meal consumed, they would remember that evaluation for a good while. It might not change eating habits, but the messages would certainly be on their minds. I think as more options- for evaluating everything one consumed became available- students might be shocked into considering making changes. I cannot remember at the moment, but I am going to check on using that tool/website? in class 2011-2012 school year. I am happy about more information and links being added to this blog. I cannot take notes fast enough :)
